IB71 Trailer: Vidyut Jammwal, Anupam Kher’s spy thriller promises an action packed, edge-of-the-seat thriller
The much anticipated trailer of Vidyut Jammwal and Anupam Kher’s spy thriller ‘IB71’ is out and it promises for an action packed, edge-of-the-seat thriller.
The two minute trailer opens with Vidyut Jammwal’s voice over informing us that Pakistan was planning something big to defeat India after loosing two wars in 1948 and 1965. And this time they also had a support of China. And India was completely unaware about this Indo-China plan. We also see two Pakistani officers discussing amongst themselves that India is not prepared to face Pakistan.
Then visuals suddenly shift to India’s intelligence officer Dev Jammwal (Vidyut Jammwal) and Anupam Kher, a senior government official, who discover that India is soon going to face attack from both sides. Jammwal devices a unique plan that involves 30 agents who are on a top secret mission for ten days.
The plan involves staging a hijack and forcing Pakistan’s hand into blocking Est Pakistan’s airspace, which will render their own plan ineffective. These passengers on the hijacked plane are India’s secret spies masquerading as ordinary Indian passengers, and they have only 10 days to make Pakistan’s plan ineffective. And thus begins a cat and mouse game between Jammwal’s secret officers and Pakistan Army.
The actor has done perilous stunts and action films for a long time, but in this film, he plays an Indian intelligence officer who largely works from his brain, but we do see him doing some hand-to-hand combat. The actor appears to be a good fit for the part.
IB71 is written and directed by Sankalp Reddy, IB 71, a National Award-winning filmmaker who previously directed Ghazi Attack (2017), which was similarly inspired by the 1971 Indo-Pak war. IB71 marks Vidyut Jammwal’s first movie as a producer with his production house – Action Hero Films, along with T- series and Reliance Entertainment. IB71 will be released in theatres in 12 May.
