Finally Padmavat Release In All States as Supreme Court Comes to its Rescue
Finally, the makers of the film Padmavat get the sigh of relief as the Supreme Court finally passes an order to dismiss all the bans in states like Rajasthan and UP. The makers were seen knocking the doors of the SC when the CMs of these states called upon for a ban against the movie, however, the Supreme Court was quick to give its decision dismissing the ban can be called as a big news for the makers. Since the film was announced in the media, it has been sailing in the ocean of several controversies, but with this verdict, it is all set to hit the theatres soon including these states as well.
The film finally releases on 25th January, so all the states and the screens which have declared their ban on this film have to reconsider their decisions and release the movie or else the would be in trouble. Yesterday, the SC lifted the ban on the film asked the governments of Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat to allow the release as the SC feels that the freedom of expression has to be respected and no one is above that. The film has Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh in the lead roles, while it is releasing next Thursday.
So, with this verdict, the orders and notifications of banning the film have now to reconsider their decisions. The bench comprising Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, and Justice A.M. Khanwilklar were seen releasing the orders and giving a sigh of relief to the makers. The decision was given against the plea given by the production companies Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions for banning the movies in different states.
