Box Office Collection: Gangubai Kathiawadi starts with a bang at BO!
Bollywood’s highly awaited film Gangubai Kathiawadi has been finally released on 25th February. As soon as the film was released, the box office shattered with the houseful boards. On day one itself, Alia Bhatt starring Gangubai Kathiawadi has earned up to 10.50 crores despite the current situation of 50% occupancy in theatres.
However, according to the traders, the film would have crossed the bar of 15cr on day one if it was released with 100% occupancy. Gangubai Kathiawadi has been marked as 3rd biggest opening at the box office post-pandemic. Despite having a non-occasional release, the film grabbed a great number on 1st day and it also holds the potential to grow more at the box office, whereas on the other hand Akshay Kumar starring Sooryavanshi and Ranveer Singh’s 83 was released with occasional dates during Diwali and Christmas.
Well, talking about the screen space of the film, Earlier a source had stated that Pen Studios is all set to close its deals with the exhibitors across India. . While the numbering is rising by the day, the industry sources insist that Gangubai is looking to release nearly 3000 screens in India on February 25. This would mark the third most expansive release after the pandemic in India after Rohit Shetty’s directorial Sooryavanshi starring Akshay Kumar and the Ranveer Singh starrer Kapil Dev Biopic, the Kabir Khan directed 83. The two films were released on 3600 and 3400 screens respectively, holding the record for being the widest release of the pandemic.
