OTT (Over the top) platforms are dominated by the major streaming media based on the level of violence, nudity and other dark themes. TechnoArt productionz has recently come up with a new web series Welcome To The Family for offering an alternate family entertainment web show.
The story of the series is a simple family drama that talks about a father and his two kids. With 4 episodes streaming online, the makers have tried on showcasing some of the common issues faced by the modern family. While the first two episodes deliver a warmer experience to viewers, the series will take an unexpected turn as the story trails to its end.
Talking about the web series Welcome To The Family, the writer of the series Roshan Bisoi mentioned, “It’s our sincere attempt at showcasing family issues.” In the first episode, Dev bunks his college classes prompting the authorities to send a letter to his family. Watch the series to find out if his father gets to know about the same or is he saved by his elder sister?
Roshan further mentioned, “The show caters to urban youth who have a different relationship with parents than their previous generations. It deals with mature subjects in a lighter manner. Family is a topic which is quite close to our hearts and relatable. There are several emotions to play around when you portray a modern family. So, it was a conscious decision to go with a family web series.”
Director Anupam Patnaik of the series Welcome To The Family also explained his part about the series mentioning, “Everyone seems to be attracted towards web content based on nudity and violence. We have decided to start a trend and not follow one.”
The team of the series had earlier created ‘Panic Shorts’, the first horror web series of the state along with several other comedy series such as ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Sala’ and ‘Tike Sata Tike Micha’. The cast of the web series includes Devika Arundhati, Debashish Sahoo and Sushil Mishra.
