Veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar dies, breathes last at age 70

Bollywood veteran lyricist Anwar Sagar died when he was 70 years old. He breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Wednesday.

In the 80s and 90s, Anwar Sagar gave many memorable songs to Bollywood with his pen. He wrote the song ‘Vaada Raha Sanam’ from the Akshay Kumar and Ayesha Julka starrer film ‘Khiladi’. Apart from this, he wrote songs in many films like ‘Yarana’, ‘Salami’, ‘Aa Gale Lag Ja’ and ‘Vijaypath’.

Anwar Sagar worked with all the big musicians around the 90s. Among them are musicians like Nadeem- Shravan, Rajesh Roshan, Jatin-Lalit and Anu Malik.

Bollywood lost many big names in the last one month. Actor Irrfan Khan died on 29 April. The next day, on 30 April, Rishi Kapoor said goodbye to the world. Veteran lyricist Yogesh Gaur died on 29 May and music composer Wajid Khan died on 1 June.
