Bio – Ranveer Singh is an Indian actor who is born on 6th July 1985, who did his bachelor’s degree from Indian University. After he returned to India, he tried his luck in Bollywood and thus got a good break in a romantic comedy known as Band Baaja Baaraat. This movie emerged out as one of the commercial and critical success, which even gave him the best male debut award to him. Ranveer is known more doing a diverse kind of movies like playing the character of a disguised robber in Lootera, a Gujarati guy in the tragic movie called Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela that emerged out a big hit and also has given him the nomination for Filmfare and a tough guy or local goon in the action drama called Gunday released this year.
Ranveer always wanted to be an actor hence has participated in a number of school activities like debates and plays and called himself as a filmy kid. He enjoyed watching TV for long, however, while pursuing his graduation he realized that making a career in acting in Bollywood isn’t that easy as it is simple nut to crack for people with strong filmy background. This therefore compelled him to focus in creative writing career and hence left the USA to puruse his BA degree from Indiana University in Bloomington. However, his passion for acting led him to take acting classes and thus was able to reconnect with his childhood dream. So, finally when he completed his education in the US, he returned to Bombay in 2007, wherein he got the chance to work as copywriter in an ad agency called O&M.
During these three years, he also kept trying giving a number of auditions for Ranveer Singh his acting career, without trying any ad or small role in any movie just to keep his face fresh in the industry. He also denied working with several serials, videos and movies for small roles. Finally in January 2010, his dream to act big in Indian cinema worked out wherein he got the chance to go for Yash Raj Films’ audition for the lead role in the movie called Band Baaja Baaraat. Aditya Chopra was really impressed to see his auditions, however, it took time for Maneesh Sharma (director of the movie) to get convinced that he is the right face for the said lead role.
Band Baaja Baaraat was termed as a sleeper hit and his role was highly praised in the industry. The critics really appreciated for his performance in his debut movie for which he also garnered the Best Male Debut award from Filmfare. This gave him handful of other movies, which included Ladies Vs. Ricky Bahl, which didn’t collect enough applauds, however, his next movie Lootera was applauded for the role of thief he played in it. And then came Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela wherein he played the character of a Gujarati boy, which is based on the Romeo character, which garnered a positive response. Finally came was the movie called Gunde in 2014, which gave him applauds making him a versatile actor in the industry. His upcoming movie is Kill Dil and has now signed a new movie of Zoya Akhtar called Dil Dhadakne Do.
