Honey Singh falls in legal trouble, to appear before a local police station to submit his voice sample

Yo-Yo Honey Singh’s legal troubles do not appear to be going away anytime soon. According to recent reports, Honey Singh has been ordered to appear before a local police station to produce a voice sample in connection with a case by a district court in Nagpur. Anandpal Singh Jabbal, it turns out, filed the complaint against him for singing and posting a foul song on social media. However, no specific music has been named.

The Panchpaoli police allegedly filed a complaint against Singh under the IPC’s section 292 (selling, distribution of obscene content) and other applicable laws, as well as the Information Technology Act. Honey Singh has been ordered to appear before the cops at Nagpur’s Panchpaoli police station between February 4 and February 11 by District and Additional Sessions Judge S A S M Ali.

The court’s most recent order came after he requested permission to fly to Dubai. Honey Singh was allowed to travel overseas between January 29 and February 4, but he was ordered to return to the police station after that.

“It appears that the applicant is bona fide seeking permission to travel abroad for his business engagement on three different dates. Considering the fact that his presence is required by the police to record his voice sample, he has shown his bona fide by filing pursis for providing his voice samples. Under these reasons, I see no legal impediment to grant permission to him by imposing certain conditions,” the judge said, as reported by TOI.
