The upcoming mythological seies ‘ Karamphaldata Shani’ is already catching fire. The former cricketer Salil Ankola who has also been applauded for his performance on Television too is paired opposite Bigg Boss 5 winner Juhi Parmar.
Salil plays the role of Surya Dev, and to prepare for the it, the actor had to put in long hours of preparation, considering it’s his comeback on television. He says, “Surya Dev is the ultimate God and a very brave warrior. Other gods depend on him when they have to battle the demons. To portray this larger than life character, I had to put in long hours at the gym to build a specific physique. I then had to work on my body language and the way I walk. I even had to work on my voice so that my character would look and sound convincing. So yes, there was literally no area when I can relax while portraying this character.”
Not just that, the outfit for Surya’s character was another tiring hurdle that Salil has to cross every time he shoots a scene, “My outfit as Surya with all the jewellery is around 20 kilos. Only the mukut is 5 kilos and the weapon of Surya Dev, the axe is around 13 kilos. And with all of this, I have to do a lot of action and that too convincingly, on camera. This is all too demanding but I love the challenge. The best part of this role is, that while preparing for it, this is the fittest I have ever been in my career. I love every bit of the hard work I am putting in.” Director and producer Siddharth Kumar Tewary’s show is most talked about for its unique subject and it seems the show will be loved by masses and classes.
