HBD OM Puri: OM Ji never auditioned for any role, know his lesser known facts here!

Today is the birth anniversary of the late Bollywood actor Om Puri. The veteran actor was born on 18 October 1950 in Ambala, Haryana. OM Ji has played all kinds of characters on screen, he has given more than 200 films to the industry. He was very fond of acting and was so much in love that he left his job as a good assistant librarian to do it. OM Ji has left its mark on TV to Bollywood and Hollywood.

But do you know he has appeared in over 200 movies but hasn’t auditioned for a single film? let’s learn about his lesser-known fact.

After receiving training from the Pune Film Institute in 1976, he taught acting in a studio for a year and a half. Later founded his own private theater group “Majma”. He started his film journey with the film Ghasiram Kotwal based on the Marathi drama. Released in the year 1980, the film Aakrosh proved to be the first hit film of his cine career.

The China Gate actor had smallpox scars on his face but when he used to act in front of the camera, the audience used to forget everything because of his acting.
