Sanjay Dutt to play ‘Thalapathy Vijay’s father’s role in Tamil action thriller ‘Leo’?

It is well known now that Sanjay Dutt is making his debut in Tamil cinema this year with Lokesh Kanagraj’s action-thriller ‘Leo’ which has Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. There were many speculations that he will be seen playing the main antagonist in the film especially after the success of KGF: Chapter 2 where he played the main antagonist.

Now as per latest media reports, makers have decided to surprise the fans of both the actors. The veteran superstar is playing the main character of Thalapathy Vijay’s father in ‘Leo’.

According to PinkVilla, Sanjay Dutt will be seen playing the role of Thalapathy Vijay’s father in Leo. “Though the character is modelled as a father on paper, it’s essentially a gangster role. Both Sanjay Dutt and Thalapathy Vijay will be seen as a gangster in the film and share a unique dynamic in Leo,” revealed a source close to the development.

The source further informed that the shoot is expected to be wrapped up by mid-July and film’s plot has all the ingredients of a Lokesh Kanagaraj film.  This will Vijay’s 67th film. Maker’s have kept the details about the film’s plot under wraps, but according to some media sources, the film is a gangster drama with some breath-taking action set pieces.

‘Leo’ boasts of the ensemble star cast of Vijay, Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Action King Arjun, Kathir, Gautham Menon, Mathew Thomas, Babu Antony, Priya Anand, Mysskin, and Mansoor Ali Khan among others. Popular music composer Anirudh Ravichander is composing the film’s music.

The shooting of ‘Leo’ is going on in full swing in Chennai and the climax sequence is planned to shoot in Hyderabad next month. Leo is produced by Lalit Kumar under his production house Seven Screen Studio. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 19 October 2023.
