Veteran director Mahesh Bhatt is known as an excellent director in the Bollywood industry. He can transport spectators to a whole different zone with his cinematic magic. Mahesh has contributed some priceless works to the cinema industry throughout his roughly five-decade career. He is unparalleled not just in terms of his films but also in terms of introducing several Bollywood heavyweights, like Sushmita Sen, Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut, and Anupam Kher, to name a few. Ajay Devgn won his first national award for the role in the film, which touches on a number of political and religious subjects and is a very timely watch. The storyline of the film, which is set against the backdrop of the racial conflict in Mumbai, is about a Muslim woman who struggles to raise the children of a Hindu father who was unable to legally marry her. Kunal Khemu, Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre, and Pooja Bhatt were also present in the film.

Mahesh Bhatt has never shied away from discussing his complicated personal life, romantic relationships, and extramarital encounters. This film is about Bhatt’s extramarital relationship with Parveen Babi and stars Shabana Azmi, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Smita Patil, and Raj Kiran. A director decides to divorce his wife while he engages in an illicit relationship with an actress. One of the biggest hits of the 1990s was the film starring Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt. The film shed awareness on the despicable practice of prostitution that is prohibited in India. A cruel brothel owner named Maharani forces a sex worker named Pooja into prostitution, and Ravi, a taxi driver, falls in love with her. She wouldn’t permit any of her prostitutes to develop romantic relationships. Due to unforeseen events, Ravi and Pooja decide to run away, only to be pursued by the Maharani’s goons.

Aashiqui, a 1990 release, is regarded as one of the most recognisable and famous love stories in Bollywood. Rahul Roy made his cinematic debut here.

5) Saaransh

Saaransh

Anupam Kher made his acting debut in 1982 with Aagman, but it wasn’t until he appeared in Mahesh Bhatt’s Saaransh in 1984 that he gained notoriety. Saaransh was exhibited internationally at the 14th Moscow International Film Festival and won three Filmfare awards. Making it India’s official submission for that year’s Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.
