Son Of Sardaar 2 Release Date Postponed to August 1

The much-anticipated Ajay Devgn starrer Son Of Sardaar 2, originally scheduled for release on July 25, has been postponed by a week. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that the film will now hit theatres on August 1. According to a source close to the production, the decision was influenced by the strong box office performance of Yash Raj Films’ Saiyaara, which released on July 18.
Saiyaara had an unexpectedly huge opening, with glowing reviews driving strong audience turnout. Its Saturday and Sunday collections are expected to be even better, and the film is poised to maintain momentum through the weekdays and into the second week,” the source explained. “Releasing Son Of Sardaar 2 just a week after Saiyaara could negatively impact both films’ business.
Therefore, Ajay Devgn, Jio Studios, and other stakeholders agreed to push the release date by one week.”A trade expert praised the decision, calling it “wise and well-timed.” He added, “Saiyaara is unstoppable right now, and with this delay, it will get a healthy two-week run before Son Of Sardaar 2 takes over the box office on August 1.
This scheduling ensures a win-win for both films and also benefits theatres.”The expert also highlighted the positive momentum in the film industry, saying, “July has truly become a great month for cinema, with hits like Jurassic World: RebirthMetro…In DinoSuperman, and now Saiyaara dominating the box office. August looks just as exciting with Son Of Sardaar 2 followed by the release of War 2.
The return of audiences to cinemas is a fantastic sign.”Son Of Sardaar 2 features a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan, Neeru Bajwa, Deepak Dobriyal, Kubbra Sait, Chunky Panday, Sharat Saxena, Vindu Dara Singh, Roshni Walia, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, and the late Mukul Dev. The film is produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja under the banners of Jio Studios and Devgn Films, with Vijay Kumar Arora directing.
