Yesterday, Bollywood Hungama accurately predicted that Rizwan Sajan, founder and chairman of Danube Group, would unveil a tower named after Shah Rukh Khan at the Mumbai event on November 14. The news came true as SRK himself graced the occasion to launch the skyscraper Shahrukhz By Danube, charming the audience with his wit and heartfelt words.
Rizwan Sajan shared a touching story about Shah Rukh Khan’s kindness that won everyone’s hearts: “Once, I was returning from Mumbai on an Emirates flight. Shah Rukh and Pooja Dadlani were on the same flight. We greeted each other, and I was sitting right behind him. I called my wife, Sameera, who is a huge fan of Shah Rukh, and told her about it. She asked me to speak to him because she wasn’t well and wanted him to pray for her. I hesitated, not wanting to intrude on their privacy, but she insisted.”
Rizwan continued, “I requested Pooja for two minutes with Shah Rukh. When the flight landed, Shah Rukh called me and I relayed my wife’s message. Being humble and kind as always, he asked when I’d be home. I told him I’d be there in half an hour. Meanwhile, my son Adel and Sameera were in London, but I hadn’t told her anything yet. Once I reached home, I connected them on a Zoom call. Shah Rukh spent over 30 minutes speaking to her, offering comfort and encouragement.
He told her, ‘Sameera, you’ll be fine,’ and prayed for her recovery. Most people would have just prayed and moved on, but Shah Rukh’s genuine care deeply touched all of us.”Rizwan added, “Once in London, I dreamt early in the morning about building a tower named after Shah Rukh. Sameera loved the idea, and so did Adel, Sana, and my marketing team. I messaged Pooja to check if it was possible. A few days later, she said yes. The next day, I was at Shah Rukh’s house, and we finalized the project.”The evening’s host, Farah Khan, lightened the mood with her trademark humour, quipping, “When Pooja says ‘It’s possible,’ only then it’s possible!”
