Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Shifts Dubai Action Sequence to Mumbai Due to Middle East Tensions

The production of the upcoming action film King, starring Shah Rukh Khan and directed by Siddharth Anand, has undergone a significant scheduling change. A planned desert action sequence, originally set to be filmed in Dubai starting April 9, 2026, was cancelled due to ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. While the production team had already secured the necessary permissions for the week-long shoot, the makers ultimately decided to prioritize the safety of the cast and crew.

In response to the cancellation, the production team has recreated the elaborate desert set at a studio in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Sources indicate that this move allows the director more control over the complex action beats and lighting required for the sequence. The scene is reported to be an intense set-piece that begins with a high-speed chase and transitions into a combat sequence featuring Anil Kapoor and Suhana Khan.
