Shah Rukh Khan’s King Nears Record-Breaking ₹50 Crore Music Deal

Shah Rukh Khan is widely celebrated as one of the biggest superstars in Indian cinema, with a massive fan base that extends all around the world. Following his extraordinary success in 2023 with back-to-back blockbusters Pathaan and Jawan, anticipation for his next theatrical appearance has reached a fever pitch. He is set to return to the big screen this Christmas 2026 with the film King, directed by Siddharth Anand.
Even well before its release, the excitement surrounding King has triggered immense business demand. The superstar is currently negotiating a record-breaking deal for the film’s music rights. With the popular music composer duo Sachin-Jigar crafting the soundtrack, the album has quickly become one of the most sought-after properties of the year. Top music labels—including Sony, Saregama, and T-Series—are competing aggressively to acquire the rights, with the leading offer sitting at a staggering Rs 50 crore.
If finalized, this transaction will rank among the biggest music deals in modern Hindi cinema history. It stands as the third-largest deal in recent times, right behind major projects like Ramayana and Dhurandhar 2. Notably, while Ramayana secured Rs 75 crore for a two-part movie package, King is on the verge of closing a Rs 50 crore contract for just a single film. This makes it one of the highest valuations ever offered for a single original Hindi movie album.
Meanwhile, production work on King is progressing rapidly. Filming is nearly finished, with only 15 days of shooting left to complete. At the same time, post-production work and final editing are moving forward in full swing to ensure the movie meets its scheduled release date during the Christmas 2026 weekend.
