After months of meticulous preparation, Salman Khan is ready to portray a real-life hero in his upcoming film Battle of Galwan. Inspired by the story of Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu from Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s acclaimed book India’s Most Fearless 3 (2022), the project is set to begin production in early August.
According to a Mid-Day report, Salman will commence shooting at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studio during the first week of August. A specially constructed set replicating key locations is nearing completion and is expected to be ready by the end of July. A source close to the production revealed that the Mumbai schedule will primarily focus on the film’s early character-building scenes.
“The Mehboob Studio shoot is crucial as it captures the protagonist’s backstory and personal moments before the intense action unfolds,” the source explained. “The production design team has worked tirelessly to create a detailed, immersive set that authentically reflects the film’s setting.”Following a 10 to 12-day schedule at the studio, the crew will head to Ladakh for the more physically demanding parts of the film. An insider shared that this outdoor schedule will include combat sequences, night shoots, and simulated battle scenes set against Ladakh’s challenging high-altitude terrain.
“The Ladakh shoot will be intense,” the insider noted. “Salman has been preparing since May with rigorous physical training and military combat familiarization to embody the role authentically.”Notably, this update comes shortly after Bollywood Hungama reported that Battle of Galwan will not release on Eid 2026.
A source explained, “Three big films—Yash’s Toxic, the comedy Dhamaal 4, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Love & War starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal—are already slated for release on March 19, 2026.”
