The wave of enthusiasm for Saiyaara shows no signs of fading. Typically, films that perform exceptionally well over the weekend experience a dip in collections during weekdays. However, the latest release from Yash Raj Films (YRF) is defying this trend. Reports from across India indicate that Saiyaara is poised to deliver impressive weekday numbers. Advance bookings for Monday are strong, and notably, YRF has chosen to adopt the Tuesday discount offer—an unusual move for major releases.
Since April, many theatres nationwide have been offering discounted tickets every Tuesday at rates of Rs. 99, 149, or 199. Interestingly, previous successful films like Raid 2 and Sitaare Zameen Par opted out of this offer, but YRF has decided to embrace it for Saiyaara.A trade expert noted, “Saiyaara’s popularity is undeniable. Even without discounts, Tuesday’s occupancy would have been solid. It’s encouraging that YRF chose to keep ticket prices reasonable, making it accessible for audiences.”The expert further explained, “Price-sensitive viewers usually wait for discount days, but with Saiyaara, there’s a strong urgency to watch it immediately.
This has led to a robust Monday and promises an exceptional Tuesday. While films often see a drop on Wednesday after a big Tuesday, Saiyaara might again be an exception.”One minor caveat is that theatres won’t offer the Rs. 99 tickets for front-row seats on Tuesday for Saiyaara, but since standard seats remain capped at Rs. 149 or 199, eager fans are unlikely to mind. Monday morning shows are witnessing remarkable occupancy in many cities—a rare phenomenon.
Early shows at Cinepolis Seawoods (Navi Mumbai) and PVR Capital Mall (Nalasopara) were nearly sold out. Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, had all Monday shows sold out in advance, including the 9:30 am slot. Jaipur’s Cinepolis World Trade Park Mall had mid to high occupancy for early shows. In Ahmedabad’s Inox Himalaya Mall, the 9:20 am show was filling fast, and Bengaluru’s PVR Nexus, Koramangala, saw approximately 80% occupancy at 8:45 am.
A multiplex duty manager in Mumbai told Bollywood Hungama, “Such strong Monday morning crowds have only been seen post-pandemic for big-budget films. It reminded me of pre-pandemic days when college students would flood cinemas for early weekday shows.”With this unstoppable momentum, Saiyaara is set for a strong double-digit collection across Monday and Tuesday.
