Rani Mukerji fans received a delightful surprise when Yash Raj Films announced that Mardaani 3 would release earlier than planned, now hitting theaters on January 30, 2026. The film cleared the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) process on January 14, receiving a U/A 16+ certificate.
According to sources, Mardaani 3 runs for 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 36 seconds, making it the longest installment in the Mardaani series. The first half lasts 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 30 seconds, while the second half runs for 1 hour, 4 minutes, and 6 seconds. This marks the first time a Mardaani film has crossed the two-hour mark. For comparison, the original Mardaani (2014) was 113 minutes (1 hour 53 minutes), and Mardaani 2 (2019) was the shortest at 103 minutes (1 hour 43 minutes).
Given the intense and disturbing themes showcased in the Mardaani 3 trailer, there were industry concerns that the film might receive an ‘A’ (adults only) certificate. However, the U/A 16+ rating broadens its audience reach, especially among younger viewers. Interestingly, only the first Mardaani film carried an ‘A’ certificate, making it a rare Yash Raj Films production with such a rating.
The franchise stars Rani Mukerji as the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, a role that has become iconic. Meanwhile, the makers have released the trailer, giving the details of the release date, check the tweet coming on social media or the microblogging site, have a look as under:
