In a surprising development, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated Love And War will now miss the Eid 2026 release window, avoiding a direct box-office clash with Yash’s much-awaited Toxic, which is confirmed to hit theaters as planned in March 2026 during Eid.
Industry insiders reveal that Love And War is significantly behind schedule, with around 75 shooting days still pending. “It’s a blessing in disguise,” a source told Bollywood Hungama. “Having two Pan-Indian films release on the same date would have made little sense. Sanjay Leela Bhansali has asked Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal to dedicate bulk dates until summer 2026 to complete the film.”
Currently running about 40 days behind its original timeline, Love And War’s earliest possible release is now June 2026 or later. The final release date will be decided soon by Ranbir Kapoor and Bhansali, who are expected to officially announce the delay shortly. This postponement also diffuses the off-screen rivalry between Ranbir Kapoor and Yash ahead of their anticipated on-screen confrontation in Ramayana.
Contrary to speculation, it is Ranbir’s film that is delayed, while Yash’s Toxic remains firmly on track. The makers of Toxic express strong confidence in their project, noting it as one of the rare Indian films shot simultaneously in Kannada and English.
Details about the new release date for Love And War remain under wraps for now. Fans will have to wait a little longer to witness Bhansali’s grand vision unfold on screen.
