Raid 2 Distributors Urge Cinemas to Skip Tuesday ₹99 Offer for Ajay Devgn Starrer, Maintain Regular Weekday Pricing

Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 has made a remarkable debut at the box office, collecting ₹19.71 crores on its opening day. This figure surpassed industry expectations, which projected the film would open with under ₹15 crores. The film maintained its momentum on the second day and is now on track to accumulate nearly ₹70 crores over its four-day weekend. Given its strong performance, distributors are taking proactive measures to maximize its success, as reported by Bollywood portal called Bollywood Hungama.

Yesterday, the distributors of Raid 2 reached out to exhibitors nationwide with a special request. A trade source revealed, “The distributors expressed their gratitude to exhibition partners for their support in screening the film. They also shared that Raid 2 is performing exceptionally well across all regions.” They made two key requests to exhibitors: first, to maintain the current ticket pricing during weekdays rather than reverting to normal prices. Raid 2 is being shown with popular pricing on weekdays, and cinemas were asked to keep these rates consistent through the weekdays and into the second weekend.

The source further explained, “The distributors also requested cinemas to refrain from offering any special promotions during the first week’s weekdays. This means that the newly introduced Tuesday ₹99 offer should not apply to Raid 2. Likewise, any schemes like Women Wednesday or discounts for school and college students should also be excluded for their film.

”The Tuesday ₹99 offer was launched by PVR Inox on April 8 as part of their Blockbuster Tuesdays initiative, allowing patrons to buy tickets for regular seats at discounted prices of ₹99 and ₹149. Since PVR operates a significant number of properties, other theaters and multiplex chains felt compelled to offer similar pricing to remain competitive. This strategy has resulted in enhanced ticket sales on Tuesdays for films like Jaat and Kesari Chapter 2.
