Preity Zinta Shares Emotional Update on Los Angeles Wildfires Impacting Her Neighborhood: ‘I Never Thought I Would Live

Following her marriage to Gene Goodenough in 2016, Preity Zinta relocated to the United States, where she now resides in a mansion in Los Angeles, California. Recently, the actress provided an update on her family’s safety as wildfires have ravaged parts of the county, causing widespread destruction. The star of Kal Ho Naa Ho expressed her relief that she and her family are safe amidst the chaos. However, she is heartbroken by the devastation surrounding them, which has already claimed over 12 lives and resulted in the destruction of more than 10,000 buildings.

The wildfires, which ignited on January 7, 2025, have wreaked havoc across Los Angeles, leading to significant losses, including homes belonging to several Hollywood celebrities. Concerned fans reached out to Preity, prompting her to share an update on X (formerly Twitter) on January 12. In her message, she reassured her followers that she is okay but deeply saddened by the situation around her.Describing the ordeal, Preity wrote about the sky filled with smoke and ash, sharing the fear gripping Los Angeles residents. “I never thought I would live to see a day where fires would ravage neighborhoods around us, with friends and families either evacuated or on high alert. Ash descends from smoggy skies like snow, leaving us in fear and uncertainty,” she shared, highlighting the anxiety faced by families with young children and elderly members. 

Preity expressed her gratitude to God for keeping her safe during this natural disaster, stating, “I’m heartbroken at the devastation around us and grateful to God that we are safe as of now. My thoughts and prayers go out to those displaced and who have lost everything in these fires.” She also thanked the brave firefighters working tirelessly to save lives and property.Preity lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Gene, and their twins, Jai and Gia. She often shares glimpses of her life at home on her Instagram account. On the professional front, she is set to appear in the period drama Lahore 1947 alongside Sunny Deol, which is being produced by Aamir Khan.
