Pen Marudhar Bags Gunmaaster G9 for ₹35 Crore+ and Jailer 2 Hindi Rights for ₹15 Crore+

Leading Indian film distribution house Pen Marudhar continues its aggressive expansion in the theatrical market by acquiring the Hindi distribution rights for two major upcoming releases: Emraan Hashmi’s Gunmaaster G9 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2. Following its recent distribution deals for high-profile projects such as Awarapan 2, Love & War, and King, the distributor secured Gunmaaster G9 for over ₹35 crore and the Hindi rights for Jailer 2 for upwards of ₹15 crore.

Trade sources indicate that Pen Marudhar’s decision to acquire Gunmaaster G9 stems from strong box office expectations around Emraan Hashmi following the success of Awarapan 2, which was also distributed by the company. Directed by Aditya Datt (Aashiq Banaya Aapne), Gunmaaster G9 co-stars Genelia Deshmukh and Aparshakti Khurana and is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 27.

Meanwhile, the acquisition of the Hindi version of Jailer 2 reflects growing demand for the franchise across the Hindi-speaking belt. While the original 2023 Jailer faced stiff competition from Gadar 2 and OMG 2 and lacked a wide release in national multiplex chains, its strong post-theatrical viewership on streaming and television built substantial brand recognition. Unlike its predecessor, Jailer 2 is slated for a full-scale multiplex rollout, boosting its box office potential.

Taran Adarsh was quick to share about it on social media, how about checking his tweet as under:

Pen Marudhar previously distributed Rajinikanth’s Coolie (2025) across Northern markets, where the Hindi dub earned ₹34 crore lifetime, establishing a solid baseline for Jailer 2. The sequel sees Rajinikanth reprising his role as Muthuvel Pandian, joined by an ensemble cast including Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty. The film arrives in cinemas on October 15.
