But truth is that currently Karan is in New York making up for his high-level meetings for the film.
Sources also revealed that, “The budget of the film is indeed sky-high. But there was never a re-think over doing Takht. The failure of Kalank has nothing to do with Takht. Kalank was directed by Abhishek Varman, whereas Takht is being directed by Karan himself, his directorial undertaking since Ae Dil Hai Mushkil three years ago, and yes his most ambitious film to date.”
Apparently the current meetings going in New York are aimed at accruing the additional funds for the movie.
Sources have also added that, “Karan’s film would cost anything from Rs 180-200 crore. Supplementary finances are being negotiated at this very moment.”
Takht is a lavish costume drama set through the Mughal era starring the pretty top notch faces including, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal and Janhvi Kapoor. Takht is expected to be one of the most expensive Bollywood film made in India.
