Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Akhanda 2 Postponed Indefinitely Amid Last-Minute Crisis

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s highly anticipated Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Sreenu and envisioned as a grand sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda, has faced a major setback just hours before its scheduled worldwide release on December 5, 2025. Paid premieres planned for December 4 were also abruptly canceled, leaving fans and the industry in shock. The film’s release is now indefinitely postponed, with no new date announced.
Trouble surfaced on December 4 when confusion arose regarding theatre bookings and screenings. By evening, the paid premieres were officially called off, and overseas KDMs reportedly failed to materialize, forcing distributors to cancel shows at the last minute. This sudden turn of events caused considerable disappointment among Balakrishna’s fans.

Shortly after, the production house 14 Reels Plus addressed the situation on social media, confirming that Akhanda 2 would not release as planned due to “unavoidable circumstances.” They described the delay as a “painful moment” for the entire team and assured fans that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issues promptly.
The statement clarified that the new release date will only be set once financial obstacles are overcome, indicating that this postponement goes beyond a routine delay and marks a significant challenge for the project.
