Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment (NGE), one of Bollywood’s most respected production houses with a legacy of over 75 years, has issued a firm statement addressing troubling reports of unethical practices linked to film reviews.I
n an official note shared on social media, NGE reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to freedom of speech and expression, emphasizing that it has never opposed—and never will oppose—fair reviews or constructive criticism of its films. The statement highlighted the importance of honest feedback for filmmakers’ growth and the overall health of the industry.
However, the studio disclosed that it recently uncovered disturbing attempts of extortion. According to NGE, certain individuals allegedly demanded money and threatened to damage the reputation of films, directors, and lead actors if their demands were not met.
The production house has since referred the matter to investigative authorities, urging legal action against those responsible. NGE was careful to clarify that its response targets only those involved in malicious extortion, not genuine film critics, independent reviewers, or YouTubers who contribute positively to cinematic discourse.
“We value honest work and wholeheartedly welcome their contributions to the healthy progress of the film industry,” the statement affirmed. The note concluded with NGE’s assurance that while constructive criticism will always be embraced, any malicious activities endangering the integrity of cinema will be dealt with firmly and lawfully.
