Meezaan Jafri Headlines Killer Jeans’ ‘Genes of India’ Campaign

Homegrown denim pioneer Killer Jeans has launched its new Genes of India campaign, featuring actor Meezaan Jafri as the face of the brand. The campaign celebrates how denim has evolved into an integral part of everyday Indian style, highlighting the diverse ways different regions, cities, and generations customize and wear denim across the country.

Once viewed primarily as Western casual wear, denim has transformed into one of the most versatile categories in Indian wardrobes. The Genes of India initiative presents denim as a unifying element of contemporary culture, spanning from Kashmir to Kanyakumari while embracing individual personal expression.

Speaking about his association with the brand, ambassador Meezaan Jafri noted that denim is a universal constant in Indian fashion. “What I like about Genes of India is that it doesn’t ask people to dress a certain way. It recognizes that everyone wears denim differently, and that is what makes it ours,” Jafri remarked.

As part of the campaign rollout, Killer Jeans introduced its latest fit innovation, the Neo Flare, which updates the classic flared silhouette with a slim cut through the thigh that opens gradually below the knee. The launch also highlights premium Selvedge denim alongside technical fabric advancements, including lightweight K-Tech Denim, extra-soft SoftPro Denim, and weather-adaptive Cool Core Denim.

Hemant Jain, Joint Managing Director of Kewal Kiran Clothing Limited, emphasized that the campaign reflects how Indian consumers adapt denim to their distinct lifestyles and regional aesthetics. By focusing on local manufacturing, tailored fits, and trend-relevant designs, Killer aims to strengthen the domestic denim market and cater to growing demand for high-quality, locally crafted apparel.

With rising fashion consciousness and a expanding appetite for experimentative styling among younger consumers, the campaign positions Killer Jeans as a contemporary leader in Indian fashion, demonstrating that denim is no longer just an imported trend, but a canvas for authentic self-expression.
