Love & War Budget Revealed: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Epic Costs Rs 350 Crores, Not Rs 425 Crores

Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of Indian cinema’s most revered directors, is back with Love & War, a casting coup bringing together Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal for the first time. Recent viral reports claimed the film’s budget had skyrocketed to Rs 425 crores, sparking rumors of production troubles.

However, reliable sources close to the project have clarified the real numbers. Initially planned as a Rs 250 crore epic, the budget has risen to Rs 350 crores which seems to be a common occurrence in Bhansali’s grand productions. “Sanjay Leela Bhansali never compromises on his vision and is passionately crafting what he believes to be his best work yet. The Rs 425 crore figure is misinformation aimed at harming the film,” a source told Bollywood Hungama.

Unlike many VFX-heavy films, Love & War is predominantly shot on elaborate sets recreating a bygone era, which keeps costs relatively controlled. “Anyone familiar with filmmaking knows the Rs 425 crore claim is exaggerated. The truth is Love & War is a Rs 350 crore production, with an additional Rs 30 crore earmarked for marketing, bringing the total cost to around Rs 380 crores,” the source added.

Meanwhile, the film has already created a good buzz on social media. We can see several posts getting viral, check one of these making waves on the microblogging site called X or formerly known as Twitter:
