We have been hearing about the remake of Coolie No. 1 since the past few weeks. However, nothing was official as we only heard that the director David Dhawan has some news, which he is going to announce on his son Varun’s birthday. So, as the star celebrated his birthday, the filmmaker father announced making Coolie No.1 to be his next venture with Varun Dhawan. He also announced the star cast stating that Sara Ali Khan would be seen in the leading role.
The comedy caper announcement came amidst the celebration of Varun’s 31st Birthday. It was after 25 years when we see David Dhawan expressed his desire to make a remake of Coolie No. 1 with his son. Vashu Bhagnani will be producing the film, while the movie will hit the floors this August 2019. This will be the third film of father and son duo in B Town starting with main Tere Hero and Judwaa 2, and now we have Coolie No. 1 to hit the floor soon in August.
The earlier two films of father and son duo have worked well giving a decent business at the box office. The original film Coolie No. 1 had Govinda, Karishma Kapoor and Kader Khan in the lead role. Varun gets the Govinda role, while Sara Ali Khan has the role of Karishma, the maker will have to find the replacement of late actor Kader Khan. The film has retained two songs from the original including Main To Raste Se Ja Raha Tha, and Husn Hai Suhana in the remake.
