Salman Khan’s upcoming war drama Maatrubhumi, previously titled Battle Of Galwan, has secured a major clearance from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (I&B). The film, based on the 2020 military clash between India and China, had been delayed due to objections from the Ministry of Defence concerning its sensitive portrayal of geopolitical relations. Following recent diplomatic improvements between the two nations, officials requested significant revisions before granting a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for public release.
Sources reveal that the approved cut of Maatrubhumi is substantially altered from its original version. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the revised narrative now frames India-China relations in a far more positive light to align with ongoing diplomatic efforts. With the I&B Ministry satisfied with the changes, the filmmakers are preparing to submit the war saga to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for final censor clearance.
