“Entirely Baseless”: Salman Khan Films Denies Reports of ‘Maatrubhumi’ Being Stalled by CBFC

Salman Khan Films (SKF) has hit back at media reports claiming that its highly anticipated war drama, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace, has run into trouble with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

Issuing a strong statement on social media, the production house branded the rumors as “false” and clarified that the film has not even been submitted to the censor board yet.

Production House Sets the Record Straight

The official clarification arrived a day after an NDTV report claimed the CBFC had withheld the film’s clearance certificate indefinitely, casting a shadow of doubt over its theatrical release.

Dismissing the speculation on July 4, Salman Khan Films posted:

“Any claims suggesting that Maatrubhumi: May War Rest In Peace has encountered issues with the CBFC or that its certification has been put on hold are false. The film has not yet been submitted to the CBFC for certification. Therefore, such reports are entirely baseless. We request that media outlets and individuals refrain from circulating unverified information.”

SKF added that all official updates regarding the film’s timeline will only be shared through its authorized channels. The banner has not yet disclosed when they plan to submit the movie for certification.
