Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani to Complete Action and Song Sequences in 40-Day Bangkok Shoot for Awarapan 2

Following the nostalgic buzz sparked by Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, which reignited fan excitement for Emraan Hashmi’s signature intense roles, the actor is set to return to that realm with Awarapan 2. The sequel, directed by Nitin Kakkar and starring Disha Patani alongside Hashmi, recently commenced filming in Bangkok.
According to a Mid-Day report, the team has scheduled a 40-day shoot in Bangkok, focusing primarily on action-packed sequences and songs. A source shared,
“The final moments of the first Awarapan featured a dream sequence where Shivam reunites with his love, played by Shriya Saran. The sequel picks up from this point — Shivam comes back to life and meets Disha’s character, who aids him in his next mission. Last week, Nitin and producer Vishesh began shooting on a busy Bangkok street. This week, they’re filming a high-octane action scene in a local market.
All major action set-pieces and songs will be completed during this schedule. Tight security measures are in place to prevent any leaks since filming is happening on real locations.”The source also revealed insights into the actors’ preparations:
“Shivam’s character has matured after his loss. Emraan will appear leaner with a French beard. Disha has undergone rigorous training for her numerous action sequences.”The Bangkok shoot is expected to wrap by early November. Afterward, filming will move to Mumbai for two additional schedules, focusing on emotional scenes. One of these will take place on an expansive set replicating the characters’ homes inside a suburban studio.
Director Nitin Kakkar plans to dedicate early 2026 to post-production, aiming for a theatrical release on April 3, 2026. Notably, Awarapan 2 is one of the fastest-moving sequels recently, having been announced just six months ago and already well into production.
