The year 2025 has kicked off delightfully for Deepika Padukone fans. On January 3, her 2013 film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was re-released and achieved remarkable success at the box office. The overwhelming demand led theaters to add numerous shows, with more venues screening the beloved romcom. Just two days later, on January 5, fans celebrated the actress’s birthday, further amplifying the festive mood. Now, an exciting surprise awaits as reports indicate that Padmaavat is set to return to the big screen.
According to a source, “Padmaavat is re-releasing in just two days, on January 24. The film will be shown exclusively in PVR Inox Cinemas. An official announcement is expected shortly, with ticket bookings opening soon after.”While details regarding the scale of the release remain unclear, a trade expert noted that the re-release aligns perfectly with the film’s 7th anniversary on January 25. The trend of re-releases has gained substantial momentum, making this an opportune moment for the film’s return.
At its original release, Padmaavat faced significant opposition from various groups, resulting in its absence from theaters in Rajasthan. It remains to be seen whether the period drama will be screened in any of the 20+ PVR Inox locations in the state this time around.Starring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor, Padmaavat tells the poignant story of Queen Padmavati, the wife of Maharawal Ratan Singh of Chittor, and the turmoil that ensued when the tyrant Sultan Alauddin Khilji laid siege to their fortress. Directed by the acclaimed Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the film was a massive hit in 2018, grossing Rs. 302 crores in India despite the controversy surrounding its release.
