Daadi Ki Shaadi: Kapil Sharma and Neetu Kapoor Lead a Generational Celebration; Release Date Announced

The first look at the highly anticipated family entertainer Daadi Ki Shaadi has officially arrived. On April 10, the makers unveiled a vibrant debut poster, confirming that the film will hit theaters nationwide on May 8, 2026.

Produced by Rtake Studios in association with BeingU Studios, the film features an eclectic ensemble cast including Kapil Sharma, Neetu Kapoor, Sadia Khateeb, and marks the much-awaited acting debut of Riddhima Kapoor Sahni.

Directed by Ashish R Mohan, the film’s title suggests a bold and humorous exploration of late-life marriage. The story appears to center on Neetu Kapoor’s character, exploring the comedic and emotional ripples caused within a traditional family when a grandmother decides to tie the knot.

The presence of Kapil Sharma hints at a narrative rich in situational comedy, while the inclusion of the Netflix logo on the poster suggests a digital premiere following its exclusive theatrical window.

The debut poster sets a celebratory and whimsical tone:

Neetu Kapoor takes center stage, radiating joy and confidence. She is flanked by a warm-looking Kapil Sharma and a spirited Sadia Khateeb. In a clever bit of symbolism, the film’s title is nestled within the branches of a large, fruit-bearing tree, representing deep family roots and new growth. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni is seen on the periphery, marking her first foray into feature films, positioned opposite an older male character who likely serves as the “groom” in the central wedding plot. The bottom of the poster features a multi-generational gathering in a lush garden framed by pink flowers, promising a festive, “big fat Indian wedding” atmosphere.

The project is produced by Shraddha Agrawal and co-produced by a team including Akshit Lahoria, Gurjot Singh, Ginni Kapil Sharma, and Komal Shahani Mohan. Distribution will be managed globally by Panorama Studios. With its fresh premise and star-studded cast, Daadi Ki Shaadi is positioned to be a major pre-summer release, offering a lighthearted look at how different generations navigate change and love.
