Popular singer B Praak has reportedly been issued a death threat along with an extortion demand of ₹10 crores by a caller claiming affiliation with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, according to an IANS report. This alarming development has led authorities to launch an investigation and enhance security measures around the artist.
The threat came through calls and a voice message directed at Dilnoor, a close friend and associate of B Praak, as per a complaint filed with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Mohali. The initial contact was made on January 5 via missed calls from an international number, followed by another suspicious call on January 6, which was cut off when Dilnoor sensed something amiss.
Soon after, a voice message from the same overseas number was sent, with the caller identifying himself as Arju Bishnoi. The message demanded ₹10 crores within one week, warning, “Pass this message to B Praak that we want 10 crore. You have one week. Go to any country you want, but if anyone associated with him is found nearby, we will cause damage.” The caller further threatened to “reduce him to dust” if the demand was not met.
The complaint, including the voice message, has been submitted to the police. Authorities are reviewing B Praak’s security and working to trace the origin of the calls to determine whether the threat is genuine or an attempt to misuse the Bishnoi gang’s name. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has been linked to multiple high-profile extortion and violence cases targeting celebrities in India.
