Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has weighed in on the ongoing national controversy surrounding the recent protest staged near Parliament in Delhi by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The demonstration, held over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, recently turned violent, resulting in injuries to both police personnel and protesters.
Known for his outspoken stance on social and political issues, Kashyap took to social media to heavily criticize law enforcement and the official response to the agitation.
“Is There Not a Single Police Officer Who Can Refuse Wrong Orders?”
Expressing his anger over the reported police action against protesters, Kashyap shared a fiery message in Hindi via his Instagram Stories:
“Wardi pehenne ke liye aatma ka, aatmiyta ka, sabka sauda karna padta hai. Maloom nahi tha. Kya ek police wala hai is desh mein jo khada ho ke bol sake main iss aadesh ka palan nahin karoonga kyonki ye galat hai.”
(“I did not know that wearing a uniform requires one to sell their soul, compassion, and everything else. Is there even one police officer in this country who can stand up and say, ‘I will not follow this order because it is wrong?’”)
Escalating Frustration Over National Issues
This statement follows another sharp critique posted by the director earlier in the week, where he wrote, “Ab hadd ho rahi hai” (“This has crossed all limits”).
Accompanying the post, Kashyap added a scathing caption reflecting his distress over the current political climate:
“Behre bhi itne behre nahin hotey, aur andhe bhi itne andhe nahin hotey. Jaanwar aur rakshason ke dil bhi itne patthar nahin hotey. Ye unse bhi badtar aadamkhor hain. Chup rehne mein sharam aaney lagi hai.”
