Mumbai is getting ready for a star-studded global event, and Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt will play a key role in the celebration. The actor, producer, and entrepreneur will join top global personalities at The Earthshot Prize 2026 Awards Night, where she will present one of the five major awards.
The grand ceremony will gather over 5,000 guests to honor innovators working on creative solutions to urgent environmental problems. Alia will share the stage with Oscar-winning actor Rami Malek, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar, and British actor-musician Simone Ashley. Filmmaker Karan Johar will host the event, with additional celebrity guests expected to join the lineup.
Alia expressed her excitement about participating in the prestigious event, noting that the prize represents hope backed by real action and innovation. She shared her pride in Mumbai hosting an international gathering that celebrates people repairing the planet. She added that honoring these groundbreaking ideas on home soil makes the moment extra special for India.
Founded by Prince William, The Earthshot Prize is widely recognized as the world’s most prestigious environmental award. It focuses on five core challenges, aiming to select and support 50 winners over a decade to help restore global ecosystems. The 2026 ceremony marks a major milestone as the first edition to stream live globally on Prime Video, reaching audiences across more than 240 countries in over 40 languages.
On her professional front, Alia is gearing up for the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal, scheduled for theaters in January 2027.
