Highly anticipated filmmaker Sriram Raghavan’s upcoming film Ikkis, starring Agastya Nanda, has been postponed from its original release date of October 2. This film marks Agastya Nanda’s first theatrical release and his second acting project after the 2023 Netflix original The Archies. Bollywood Hungama has learned that the producers have pushed the release to November 7.
A source close to the production revealed, “Ikkis will now release on November 7. Producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films decided that the post-Diwali period in early November would be an ideal window for the movie’s launch.”An industry insider echoed this sentiment, saying, “This rescheduling is a smart move considering two major films—Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Kantara: A Legend – Chapter 1—are set to release on October 2. November 7 provides a less crowded and more strategic release slot.”Ikkis also features veteran actors Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat.
Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, the film follows the story of second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, portrayed by Agastya Nanda as the war hero. However, despite the shift, Ikkis will face competition on its new release date. It will clash with Ek Din, starring Junaid Khan—another star kid—alongside Sai Pallavi. Directed by Sunil Pandey and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Ek Din was shot amidst the scenic Snow Festival in Sapporo, Japan. The November 7 showdown between these two star-studded films adds an exciting twist to the upcoming Bollywood release calendar.
