Aditya Dhar vs. Santosh Kumar Row: Legal Battle Brews Over Dhurandhar 2 Script Theft Allegations

A heated controversy has erupted in the film industry, with filmmaker Aditya Dhar and writer Santosh Kumar locked in a growing legal dispute over allegations of script theft related to Dhurandhar 2, also known as Dhurandhar: The Revenge. Both sides have presented conflicting claims, and the matter appears to be escalating toward a legal confrontation.

Aditya Dhar’s Response

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Aditya Dhar has already taken steps through his legal team to address the allegations. A source revealed,

“Aditya Dhar has already issued a notice to Santosh Kumar through his legal team, refuting the allegations and requesting him to refrain from making false claims. Despite this, since Santosh continues to make baseless allegations, Aditya is in the process of initiating appropriate legal proceedings against him.”

Santosh Kumar’s Counterclaims

Santosh Kumar, however, denied receiving any formal legal notice, stating that the communication sent to him was merely a reply to one of his emails. He alleged that he was being pressured to stay silent.

“It is not a notice; it is just a reply to my mail. They are harassing me, telling me not to complain and accusing me of defaming them for publicity. I told them I am going legal, so don’t send me messages—come to court,” Santosh reportedly said to the media.

Santosh also claimed that his attempts to engage directly with Aditya Dhar and the involved production houses had been unsuccessful. He elaborated,

“I could not reach Aditya Dhar. I contacted the production house, Jio Studios, and they said they are just producers and I need to discuss this with B62 Studios. I am filing a case against them. The producers are harassing me for making the story public. I told them, ‘Come and legally answer me.’”

As the dispute intensifies, the controversy has brought intellectual property concerns in the film industry into sharp focus. With both Aditya Dhar and Santosh Kumar standing firm on their claims, the case seems poised to head to court—a legal showdown that may not only resolve this particular dispute but also set a precedent for protecting writers’ rights in the future.
