The underwhelming performance of War 2 has undoubtedly disrupted YRF’s ambitious plans to establish the YRF Spy Universe as India’s biggest cinematic franchise. However, Aditya Chopra is not letting this setback hold him back. Instead, he is recalibrating his strategy with renewed determination.
The next installment, Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, along with Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor, is shaping up to be a pivotal film in regaining momentum. Sources confirm that Hrithik Roshan will appear as Agent Kabir in a special role.Given the impact of War 2 on the franchise, Aditya Chopra has now reached out to Shah Rukh Khan, requesting him to do a cameo in Alpha. A source told Bollywood Hungama,
“Currently, Pathaan is the most talked-about character in the Spy Universe. Aditya Chopra has personally called Shah Rukh Khan to offer him a specially designed cameo in Alpha, which will set the stage for Pathaan 2. Shah Rukh has asked for some time to consider the offer, as he is currently committed to shooting ‘King’.”Chopra has requested 3 to 4 shooting days from Shah Rukh in early November, ahead of Alpha’s planned Christmas 2025 release.
“Shah Rukh had initially blocked the entire month of November for ‘King,’ but at Adi’s request, he is trying to reschedule to accommodate the cameo. He is expected to confirm within a week to ten days. If a full cameo isn’t possible, he might shoot an end-credit sequence for Alpha,” the source added. Meanwhile, Aditya Chopra is also exploring the possibility of a cameo by Salman Khan reprising his role as Tiger in Alpha. However, the script for this is yet to be finalized.
“Adi will approach Salman only if the cameo matches the impact of Tiger’s appearance in Pathaan,” the source revealed. The film is directed by Shiv Ravail, Alpha is gearing up for a big Christmas 2025 release, with high hopes of reigniting the Spy Universe franchise.
