Rapper Krishna Kaul, popularly known by Krsna (KR$NA) alleged that the IPL anthem Aayenge Hum Wapas has been plagiarised from his 2017 rap song Dekho Kaun Aaya Wapas. In his latest tweet, he slammed the decision of the Music Composers Association of India (MCAI), which has ruled that the two songs in question are different. The rapper tweeted on 10th September’s morning, “I just got word that ‘Music Composer’s Association of India’ has suggested that plagiarisation of Hip Hop songs is permissible in their opinion because all hip hop songs sound the same. Shabaash! Tumhara khoon khoon, hamara khoon paani,” he added the hashtag #IPLanthemcopied to his tweet. Krsna’s tweet arrived just after IPL 2020 anthem’s maker Pranav Ajayrao Malpe refused that the track Aayenge Hum Vapas was plagiarised during an interaction with news agency and shared the certificate of Music Composers Association of India (MCAI), which clears that his song is an original composition and not copied.

IPL 2020 is all set to begin in the UAE from September 19 and the final on November 10. The matches are finally happening after the coronavirus pandemic first led to the competition being postponed and then later forced the tournament out of India.

Controversies surrounded this year’s IPL right from the start. Initially the matches the matches were postponed due yo the pandemic. After escalation with China on the border in Ladakh, there was a rise in chorus against the use of Chinese products.
