This name is a brand in Bollywood, who is known to produce some of the best movies in Bollywood. Apart from being a producer, he is also an ace director and screenwriter. He was born in Kabul, Afghanistan but was brought in Srinagar, Kashmir in India. He comes from a rich Bollywood family as his own uncle Ramanand Sagar was an ace filmmaker. He did his schooling from Sri Nagar and then headed to Pune to do his course from Film and Television Institute of India. Seeing his interest in filmmaking and direction, his family supported him and sent him to Pune to do a course from FTII. Currently, he is among the top filmmaker of Bollywood, who is known to make different movies in Indian Cinema.

Since his own uncle was in Filmmaking, he didn’t find any hassle in entering into Bollywood. Hence, his very first tele-film called Murder at Monkey Hill was a big hit, which even helped him to bag National Film Award under the Best Short Experimental Film, while he even received the Guru Dutt Memorial Award for Best Student Film. He then entered into the domain of short films wherein he made a couple of short documentaries, which showcased the plight of destitute kids known as An Encounter With Faces. This short documentary was even nominated to Academy Award under the category of Documentary Short Subject in 1979. Later it was awarded with Grand Prix at the known film festival of Tampere in the year 1980.

After doing really good with making short documentary films, he then headed to feature films. He then made black and white tight budget movie called Sazaa E Maur, which was a thrillers starring Naseeruddin Shah and Renu Saluja. These actors were not too popular at that time and were close friends of his. His next movie was Parinda, which was a big time hit with Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. Some of his popular movies include 1942: A Love Story, Munna Bhai MBBS, Mission Kashmir, Lage Rahi Munna Bhai, Eklavya, Parineeta, and the blockbuster called Munna Bhai. In fact, his movie 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan, Sharan Joshi and Madhavan made a whopping 3 billion business worldwide turning out to be an all time hit movie. Some of his forthcoming movies include PK, Chittyan, Munna Bhai Chale Delhi and Taalismaan. As far as awards are concerned, he has bagged 7 National awards for making different big time movies, and a number of so many other awards.

Abhiraj Minawala is a filmmaker and actor who is based in Mumbai. He basically hails from Gujarat wherein he was born and brought up at. He did his schooling and college from Gujarat and then headed to Mumbai to pursue his dreams in filmmaking. He was fond of movies and wanted to make his career in Bollywood, hence once he completed his education, headed to Mumbai to fulfill his dreams. It was a big of struggle for this man, however, soon with a passage of time, he managed to get the break in B Town.  He has come a long way in establishing himself in the industry.

He started working as assistant director with the B Town film called Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year starring Ranbir Kapoor released in 2009. Since then it was no looking back for him as he got one film or the other giving him the chance to learn and hone filmmaking skills. The next film he got was Band Baaja Baraat having Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. The other films he did as an assistant director include Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Gunday, Fan and Sultan. This has given him the chance to work with top directors including Yash Raj, Manish Sharma, and Ali Zafar to name a few.

Besides, he has also tried acting in few films getting smaller roles starting with the film Aashayein in 2010 playing the party guy, while in 2011 worked as Luv Ka The End and then in Mere Brother Ki Dulhan as Shera the same year. In the year 2018, he will be doing his debut in direction with the film Loveratri starring Ayush Sharma and Warina Hussain which is produced by Salman Khan. The movie is releasing in September 2018 amidst the eve of Navratri. Talking about his personal life, he is married to Swetha in 2015 and they have been rating for a while before getting married to each other. Deven Bhojani is a popular actor from small screen and is also seen in movie. He was born and brought up in Mumbai in the year 1969. He also tried his luck in real-estates apart from trying his hand in filmmaking and theatres. But soon he kept his focus on acting. Shonali Bose is a popular name in filmmaking. She is a known director, screenwriter and producer and best known for her movie Amu, which has exposed the suppressed history of genocidal attacks over the Sikh Community in 1984 after the assassination of Indira Gandhi. Shonali Bose is from Calcutta, while was brought up in cities like Delhi and Bombay. She did her graduation in humanities from the known Miranda House College followed by moving to the New York to get her masters in Political Science from the known Columbia University. During her college days, she was involved in activism and theaters as well and acted in a number of school/college plays and dramas.

Her career started with a role of an organizer at National Lawyers Guild wherein she directed live community TV in Manhattan in the US. This was soon recognized by the MFA Directing Program at UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television. Her short films like The Gendarme Is Here and Undocumented along with the feature documentary called Lifting the Veil were screened in a couple of prestigious festivals and several other venues of the world. She has produced limited number of films, which include Amu through which she started her directorial debut along with doing the writing of script and production as well.

This film was a big success in India getting positive reviews. She has won seven national and international awards for this film, which include FIPRESCICritics Award, Gollapudi Srinivas Award for best first-time director and National Film Award for Best Feature Film in English. The book called Amu was written by her only, which became the screenplay of the film. She brought both the movie and her book with same title at the same time. In the year 2012, she co-authored Chittangong, which was directed by her ex husband. It revolved around the Chittagong armory raid of 1930. The movie has Manoj Bajpai as Masterda Surya Sen. Next is her recently released movie Margarita with a Straw starring the talented Kalki Koechlin, which showcases a girl having cerebral palsy. As far as her personal life is concerned, she was married to filmmaker Bedabrata Pain, however, she has now separated.
