The film deals with a historical fiction story, which is made at the backdrop of 18th century. This was the time when the entire Indian subcontinent was called Hindostan, while the Indian bandits were called as Thugs  and these posed a serious threat to British East India Company that was expanding its base getting a large parts of India. On the other side you will find a band of Thugs, which is led by Khudabaksh Azaad played by Amitabh Bachchan, who remain a grave threat to the East India Company as he aspires to make the country free from the British. The British led by John Clive (played by Lloyd Owen), a British commander, sends a man Firangi Mallah (played by Aamir Khan who happens to be a small-time Thug from Awadh) with the mission to infiltrate and to make him weak. So, what goes next is worth exploring in the nearby cinema.

Thugs of Hindostan Review

The film has everything one aspires to catch during the festive season – action, adventure and fantasy, which justifies to be a big-ticket film. This gives the Indian avatar of ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’, to the audience giving them a novel experience. The film proves out to be a big-budget entertainer but it will fail give the same thrills we see in the named Hollywood film. However, with lacklustre writing, stalwarts with great performances and many more elements it has the potential to do big business. On the other side, the film carries a couple of factual errors taking too much of liberty in the film in the name of fantasy.Thugs of Hindostan

The other dismaying factor is the music given by the talented duo music director as it fails to tune up to the narrative. Talking about the performances, Aamir and Big B have been incredible, while the rest of the crew including Fatima and Katrina Kaif too remained par surpassing the expectations of the audience. Aamir has also helped the audience with his humor and physical strength while Big B remains the no-nonsense person with intense dialogues. The duo is way ahead then the other two. The action scenes of Fatima Sana Shaikh remained affected with some bad choreographed action sequences. The loads of special and VFX effects have also added a lot to the entertainment value.

Thugs of Hindostan – The Last Word

Although the film may lag behind in something or the other, but in terms of action and performance along with interesting story line and special effects, it has much to deliver. The highly expensive movie can be a worthy catch this weekend getting a decent rating.Thugs of Hindostan
