Teen heart throb Kate Sharma is Miss India Teen Princess 2016

Luck seems to favour 19-year-old Mumbai college student Kate Sharma this time of the year. In what seems to be a hat-trick, Kate who was first crowned Selfie Queen, followed by Miss Pune Online 2016 has now been crowned the Miss India Teen Princess for 2016, by international pageants and contests company Pageants World.
Says Asia-Pacific president of Pageants World, Sherry Nathan – the organizers of the event Miss India Teen Princess, “Kate has surely broken records. She was the undisputed winner for the third major event we conducted in a span of two months. After she was crowned Miss Pune Selfie Queen, the bubbly model’s selfie images went viral in a matter of hours and registered over 5 lakh views. Kate is extremely popular with the teenage audience in India and is a huge hit with male youngsters between 15 and 20 years of age. She is definitely the Teen Sensation or Teen Heartthrob of India”

The Miss Pune Selfie Queen – an on-line pageant conducted by talent agency Pageants World, Rainbow TeleFilms and one of the Bollywood portal announced its winners last week. And by Saturday evening, Kate Sharma’s pics had clocked over 5 lakh views, says Nathan who monitors the viewer ship and clicks of the participants. Given the fact that she is an aspiring model and actress with no major fan following, the fact that her images clocked over 5 lakh views within 24 hours, is an achievement of sorts.

The Panvel-based, 19-year-old teenager, Kate Sharma was crowned the Miss Pune Selfie Queen after defeating about 70 other participants from Pune and surrounding areas in an online pageant conducted by Pageants World a week ago.

She earlier completed her schooling from Ulhasnagar and B.Com from the Mumbai University to pursue her dreams of modeling and acting. The pageant Miss Pune Online 2016 and Miss Pune Selfie Queen is organised by Bollywood news portal , Rainbow TeleFilms India and Pageants World. Kate was also voted the selfie queen in a sub-contest of the same event.

“All the pageants are organised to promote local talent at the town and city level and to groom and promote artistes and actors with a sturdy platform, which gives them the opportunity to interact with professional choreographers, musicians, actors, film directors and stage personalities,” said Kiran Raut partner of Rainbow Telefilms, the event organizers.

Kate who had applied for the event and had forgotten it, polled the maximum number of ‘LIKES’, ‘MENTIONS’, ‘RETWEETS’ and ‘SHARES’ on her selfies on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to be the undisputed leader of the pack. Says Kate, “I love clicking selfies. I found a mention of the online pageant and I just clicked about two dozen selfies and uploaded them. I never expected to win. However, thanks to all my friends, who voted for me, I am the winner of the Miss Pune Selfie Queen. My next step is Miss Maharashtra and Miss Mumbai and I am participating in both the events.”

Besides, State-level events, Kate wants to participate in Pride of India International – an international pageant which gets participants from over 150 countries and is as popular as Miss Universe or Miss World. She is also participating in Mother Earth King and Queen which will be held in Taiwan next month.
