Soumya Chakrabortty is a singer who hails from Kolkatta. He was born and brought up in this city and comes from a family of musicians. He was born on 14th August 1990 in Calcutta. He did his schooling from Indpur Goenka High School, while completed his graduation in Bengali Hons. from Burdwan University. He started learning music from his mother as he calls her to be his first guru who taught her music and other things in life. He used to practice 14 hours a day to master his singing skills as per his mother. He started singing young and even participated in different stage shows.
Professional Career :
Soumya Chakrabortty is also the winner of the Zee Bangla Show – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa in 2015 bagging the title in the Grand Finale. This led him to enter into the All India Radio – Akashvani 2 wherein he got the chance to work as a Music Artist. With his talents and good singing skills, he managed to enter into the top 14 of the Indian Idol. He loves semi-classical and soulful singing, while he likes Arjit Singh as a singer. His favorite actors in Bollywood include Katrina Kaif and Sunny Leone. He says these actresses are his first crush before he got married to his lady called Rupsa Chakraborty.
Besides singing, he also likes photography and loves to capture different moments and people in his camera. He calls photography his second passion, and if things in singing did not work for him, he would like to try his luck in photography. He has performed in various Bengali TV Channels apart from the AIR Bangla, and the FM Channel called Radio Bangla Net and so on. He is very active in social media and is seen posting a number of things in different social networking sites including Facebook and other platforms.
