Shraddha Das is known more as a south Indian movie actress rather than Hindi as Shraddha Das has acted in a number of Telugu movies than Hindi ones. She is born and brought in Mumbai in a family of Bengali and Maharashtrian parents. After doing her schooling and junior college, she went to SIED college of Commerce and Economics wherein she did her Mass communication degree getting her degree of Bachelors of Mass Media. She comes from a non film background with his father hailing from Purulia who runs his own business in Bombay, while her mother is a housewife.

Since she belonged to Mumbai, she always wanted to act in movies, however, got the chance in South Indian movies. Her debut acting venture was the Telugu movie called Sidhu directed by Srikakulam. This gave her a number of movies including Target 18, Diary, Love Story, Adhineta. However, all these movies failed to impress the critics and audience thus turning into flop ones, though these helped her to get some recognition giving her a couple of other movies including a number of sequels. These sequels include Arya, Arya 2, Mantra and Chandramukhi, which gave her the nickname of sequel queen.

She soon landed to the lead role in the movie called Lahore by Sai Om Films, which was directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. His character was that of a Pakistani girl opposite to the actor Aanaahad for which was won all rounds of applauds for her incredible performance. The movie was released in the year 2010, which even was presented in 42nd WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival wherein it received a couple of awards. Her entry into Bollywood came with the movie called Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, which was released in the year 2011. She acted opposite Omi Vaidya along with Ajay Devgan and Emraan Hashmi. She then got another set of South Indian movies including Malayalam called Dracula 2012, while the other was Kannada called Hosa Prema Purana garnering good response for them.

In the year 2014, she went on to do a Bengali movie called The Royal Bengal Tiger. Her upcoming movie is Rey wherein she is playing the character of an American Pop Singer. According to her, the character of this film is very much eccentric one par to the role of the male lead. Currently, she is filming for three movies including Chai Shai Biscuit, Lucky Kabootar Anubhav Sinha’s erotic thriller Zid. With these films, she would be having a compatible career in Bollywood industry for Hindi movies.
