With so many B Town actors hailing from the western world, Shivani Ghai too is no exception as she happens to be a British who has the Indian descent. She was born in Newcastle Upon Tyne to an Indian family, while was brought up in a city called Gosforth and attended the school called Gosforth High School. Later she then headed to Derby University wherein she got her graduation in Film and TV studies. She started her acting by working in theaters based in London, while later was seen working in companies including Kali and Man Mela and Rifco. She then headed to TV and did shoes including Spooks, The Bill and Doctors.

In the year 2003, she got the chance to play the lead character in the US based adventure series called Adventure Inc opposite Michael Biehn. Later, she was seen in Gurinder Chadha’s movie Bride and Prejudice along with Aishwarya Rai. Later she was seen in a couple of TV commercials and even theatres. She then worked in a couple of European TV shows and programs especially for the Italian TV. Later, she went to Tunisia wherein she worked with House of Saddam in HBO and BBC wherein she played the character of Saddam’s daughter called Rana. This show was finally telecasted in the year 2008 in September.

She then got the chance to do the five part drama known as Five Days II, which is basically the sequel of Five Days wherein she played the character – Nusrat Preston whom she called as one of her favorite ones. She then was seen playing a number of similar characters in different shows based at this place. One such known venture was her film called Cleasnkin, which was released in 2012. In the very next year in 2013, she was seen in Ambassadors and later turned out to be the main lead of apocalyptic series called Dominion.
