Riteish Deshmukh reportedly called for Elli Avram to be replaced in ‘Housefull 3’.
The 25 year-old ‘Mickey Virus’ star who was originally approached to play Riteish’s love interest in ‘Housefull 3’, has now been replaced in the upcoming comedy film by Lisa Haydon, reportedly at the request of her would-be co-star.
Despite the producers and directors initially seeking out Elli to be the leading lady for the third instalment of the ‘Housefull’ series, the 36 year-old ‘Ek Villain’ star was apparently less excited to work with the ‘Big Boss’ reality TV star, and reportedly even asked for her role to be recast.
An insider revealed: “Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and directors Sajid-Farhad were keen to cast Elli in the film. Almost everything from money to the dates but Riteish had his reservations.”
The source continued: “He felt he deserved a bigger heroine to be paired with him. He requested his producer and director and that’s how Lisa was cast.”
Elli admitted that she was disappointed to have been replaced by the ‘Queen’ star, and said she was unsure why the role had been recast.
The ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ star said: “I met Sajid (Nadiadwala) for Housefull 3 where he briefed me about the project. I even met Sajid and Farhad who seemed keen to cast me, but I don’t know what happened after that as they didn’t get back to me. I don’t know if Riteish expressed his reservations, maybe he did… But it was certainly disappointing that it didn’t work out.”
However, the actress held her head high, and claimed that she is not worried about missing out on the role, as she is receiving other offers.
Elli said: “it’s fine! I am getting lots of offers after the trailer of my film Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon with Kapil Sharma.”
Elli can next be seen in Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon, which is set to release next month.
