This Friday we have a solo release in the form of Raid, which has Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz and Saurabh Shukla in the lead roles. This makes a film to be based on the I-T Department which was directed by Raj Kumar Gupta. The film is set in the eighties and is inspired by real life incidents. The film has managed to get a decent ratings by most of the reviewers and critics giving a decent buzz, which seemed to have existed earlier with the advent of the trailer by the makers. This has helped the film to earn good over the box office.
However, the role of Ajay Devgn in the film called May Patnaik has been just the opposite one has seen in the Golmaal Again film so it was interesting to see how it has managed to call the audiences. As per reports, the 1st day box office collection for Raid tolled to around INR 5.5 crore, which is a decent amount. The film is expected to surge in the coming first weekend with a decent collection crossing the 20 crore mark. The film is expected to create a good word of mouth buzz for the film for the reason that it has given some of the best performances of the actors in the lead roles both in negative and the positive one.
However, the film has witnessed some amount of competition from the Luv Ranjan’s film called Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. As see this film maintaining a steady hold at the box office with some amount of the light-hearted content along with other films like Pari starring Anushka Sharma’s Pari as well in certain areas. However, in the weekdays, the film is going to have an average business earning 1-2 crore on a daily basis giving a worthy collection for the makers.
