Born in the revered family of classical Sufi singers, Rahet Fateh Ali Khan, received soulful music as a family legacy. He carries forward the age old heritage of music from the Lahore family of Sufi and Qawwali singers to which belongs the world renowned singers like Farrukh Fateh ali Khan and Nusrat fateh Ali Khan. The former is the father of rahet and the late his uncle. Both the singers were active in Pakistani music concerts and films and televising in Lahore . Late Nusrat fathe Ali Khan had sung for Bollywood filsm as well.

Biography :

Rahet’s uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sighted deep talent in the young boy and choose him to assist him as his special student. This gave him immense opportunities to learn the nuances of music at the hands of the adept master. He travelled abroad with his uncle and father and was a quick learner at music. In no time, Rahet developed a style of his own and ,mastered the art of Sufi and Qawaaali . After performing on various Pakistani and international platforms, he was offered to sing the song Mann Ki Lagaan in Pooja Bhatt’s Paap.The song was enacted by John Abraham and Udita Goswami . It was a huge hit and Rahet had arrived in Bollywood music . There was a clear resemblance of his late uncle Nusrat Fathe Ali Khan in his voice and style and it reminded Hindi music listeners of the glorious Lahore Music that was missing in Bollywood for a many years. Thereafter, Rahet received many offers for songs, and today he is one of the sought after singers in Bollywood. Once again, Sufi music was revived in Bollywood.

He sang the scintillating songs such as Naina in Omkara, Jag soona soona Laage , Bol Na Halke Halke and Ore Piya to name a few. All these songs are soulful and lively and Sufi in nature. Later more songs such as Ajj Din Chadeya and Teri Oorr followed and the Hindu listeners adapted to his deep voice breathed life into the lyrics. In the superhit film Dabang, he rendered his voice to Tere Mast Mast Do Nain. In Bodyguard, he sang Teri Meri which was record breaking hit on the web. In his Bollywood career that spans over a decade, he has revived Sufi songs and produced a league of his own for music lovers.

Rahet Fateh Ali Khan has been honored with many awards by the Indian and international music industries. These include international artist of the decade at UK Asian Awards.
