Two films released this Friday – Pataakha and Sui Dhaaga. The latter did well for obvious reasons, however, Pataakha remained slow and low at the box office for the obvious reasons. Vishal Bhardwaj again had to face the debacle of another film in B Town after his last movie Rangoon fell flat over the box office despite having good star value and other things. This time the filmmaker returned with something unique and interesting story of two rural sisters who are always fighting keeping Sanya Malhotra, Radhika Madan, Sunil Grover and Vijay Raaz in the lead roles. The film however did the business the way it had expected in the B Town.
As per the trade experts and pundits, for films like Patakhaa, there seemed too low buzz in the media, which failed to attract the audience to the theatres. Otherwise, Vishal Bhardwaj film could have scored something over the box office. Nevertheless, the content of the film seemed different and the performances of most of the actors were good to score well over the box office. Now, talking about the way the film has performed over the box office, the film did a poor show and there were two reasons – the first one comes in the form of Sui Dhaaga, which was a better option for the audience to catch and second reason was the Asia Cup Final match.
Sui Dhaaga had better buzz as compared to the other film, whilst Pataakha had little. Hence the difference was pretty inevitable. As per reports, the first day box office collection for Patakaakha reached to around 1.5 crore, which is still a decent figure considering the low buzz and other factors. Now, if the movie is able to develop a decent buzz in the media in the coming few days or during the weekend, it would certainly going to score. However, looking at the current pictures, things are not rosy hence, the collection will not go up. One can expect the film to score 5 to 7 crore at the end of the first weekend. Stay tuned to know more on this.
Why Cheat India Box Office Prediction
This Friday we have two movies releasing, one is Why Cheat India, which has a good buzz in the media, and the other one is 72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died that is known to have a minimal buzz in the media for having low star cast and other things. Now, let’s talk about the Emraan Hashmi and debutant Shreya Dhanwanthary film. There is a good buzz for the film ever since the trailer and posters of the film were launched. However, the experts feel that the film has addressed a social issue that can make the film a niche subject. Hence it may not attract everyone. Hence it would be difficult to predict the way the film would perform at the box office.
It has the potential to be a big blockbuster film at the box office. All thanks to its rich content and stellar performances as showcased by Emraan Hashmi and the lady doing her debut with this film in B Town. However, the way the audience would respond to such a film with the social issue is doubtful. We know how good films with rich content and stellar performances have been bad over the box office, while on the other side films with masala content like Simmba can perform better as these somewhere resemble the taste of the masses. Hence it would be fair to say that the collection will not be promising. As per reports and the buzz, the first-day box office collection would be around 4-5 crores.
However, on the first weekend, we can see some kind of boost at the box office collection. This may rise up to 20 -23 crores depending upon the kind of the word of mouth buzz the film would create in the media. On the other side, we have another film releasing on the same day called 72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died, however, it poses no competition to Why Cheat India, hence the latter would benefit at the box office. Well, let’s see how things would move at the box office but at the moment things are kind of rosy for the film.
KGF Box Office Collections in Pakistan
The film KGF featuring KGF has not just done well at the box office in Indian screens but also had a fair show in the neighbouring nation – Pakistan. It was the first South Indian film to find its release in Pakistan. The film was released last Friday, and since then it has scored well over the box office. As per reports, the first-weekend box office collection for KGF in Pakistan is 3 crores. Back home the film had already collected 200 Crores at the box office, and the makers along with the entire cast and crew were seen partying. The event had the lead actor Yash, along with Ananath Nag, Srinidhi Shetty, and Vijay Kiragandur to name a few.
In Pakistan, the Hindi version was released for the obvious reasons last week. The movie was released on screens in different regions. As per reports, the film collected 81 Lakhs on the first day of its release in Pak. The second day the film collected around 1.06 Crores, while on the third day it was around 1.45 Crores. So the first three days or weekend collection for the film tolled to around 3.32 Crores on the first day. This is the first time we have seen any South Indian film was released in Pakistan. Yash has been released in the entire country.
The film is gaining a good buzz in the media and is likely to do better over the box office getting an increased viewership. As per reports, the film is likely to be seen releasing in China as well. As of now, the film KGF has entered into the 200 Crore Club. The Hindi version in India has earned 42 crores, while the film has made us earn 21.45 Crore on the first week, while on the second week, it made 7.44 Crores and in the third week, it has gained 1.61 crores. In other words, it is going great guns over the box office and likely to do better business. Stay tuned to know more about it and others only with us.
Uri & The Accidental Prime Minister – 1st Weekend Box Office Collection
The B Town had two films released the passed Friday – Uri The Surgical Strike and The Accidental Prime Minister. Both the film had their own buzz but the way these have performed over the box office. Let’s talk about the former first. Uri featuring Vicky Kaushal and Vaani had a decent start in the first weekend. The film had a good buzz with its fierce action and thrill in the film based on a real-time incident happened in September 2016. The film scored 8.20 Crores on the first day, which is a decent figure for a film having less star value. The next way went higher than Friday and it scored 12.43 Crores on the second day. The third day went huge compared to the previous two days scoring 15.25 crores.
So with these figures, the first-weekend box office collection for Uri – The Surgical Strike went to score around 35.88 Crores, which is an extremely good figure for a film with a debutant director like Aditya Dhar. The film is based on the surgical attack of India Army to take the avenge of 19 Indian soldiers killed by Pak army in the LOC area on 29th September 2016. Despite the release on The Accidental Prime Minister starring Anupam Kher, Uri went unstoppable at the box office and likely to have a good value for money on the weekdays as well.
Now, talking about the other film, The Accidental Prime Minister, it was a poor show at the box office. Despite a decent performance of Anupam Kher who played Dr. Singh in the said movie, TAPM failed to impress the audience. Perhaps it was the politics that reduced the entertainment value of the movie. The film scored 4.5 Crores on the first day followed by 6 Crores and 7.5 Crores on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Thus the first-weekend collection for The Accidental Prime Minister is around 18 Crores. The experts expect the film to perform average on the weekdays as it has sensed a massive kind of competition from the other film – Uri.
